- In section 1, 'Compatibility of this protocol', MinION Mk1B and Mk1C were removed, along with their links for IT requirements as these device documents have moved to legacy. This also includes removal of links to their user manuals in 'Data acquisition and basecalling'.
- In section 2, 'Equipment and consumables', image of the kit in the single-use tube format was removed.
- The section 'Computer requirements and software' was removed as the information is available in section 1, 'Compatibility of this protocol'.
- In section 3, 'Library preparation' a note was added to check your flow cell.
- In section 4, 'Priming and loading the MinION/GridION Flow Cell', a tip was added to bring the flow cell to room temperature for better visibility of the array. The addition of BSA to the flow cell priming mix was changed from a 'recommended' to a 'required' instruction. Instructions for the use of the kit in tube format were removed from step 2. A note was added to the end of this section to explain that when a flow cell is inserted into the MinION Mk1D, there will be a small gap around the sides of the device.
