- Addressing the challenges of metagenomics with nanopore sequencing
)
Overview
The advances of DNA sequencing technologies to enable genomic analysis of metagenomic samples has made it possible to obtain complete and nearly complete genome sequences from uncultured microorganisms — providing an important means to study their biology, ecology, and evolution. However, a number of challenges remain, particularly for time-critical or remote sampling applications, such as outbreak investigation and pathogen surveillance.
In this white paper, we explore how nanopore sequencing addresses these challenges with any-length nanopore sequencing reads, real-time data analysis, and portable sequencing devices.
In this white paper, you will:
- Learn the importance of metagenomics and its recent developments
- Discover the limitations of legacy sequencing technologies
- Find out how nanopore sequencing overcomes these limitations
- Read real-world case studies of how researchers are utilising nanopore sequencing to deliver new insights into microbial communities
