ASHG 2020 has moved online this year but there’s still plenty going on and lots of ways you can find out about how human genomics researchers are overcoming some of the big challenges in the field and making new discoveries, using nanopore sequencing. Read on to find out more and plan your ASHG schedule.
Oxford Nanopore Technologies satellite event at ASHG
On 28th October, 9am (EDT), we are hosting a seminar, during which you'll be able to hear about the latest tech updates for Oxford Nanopore Technologies, as well as from researchers using nanopore technology in the field of human genomics.
- Into the Unknown: The Epigenetics of Repetitive DNA by Ariel Gershman, Johns Hopkins University
- Long-read sequencing of human tissues to study allelic effects on transcriptome structure, Tuuli Lappalainen, New York Genome Centre
- ACME: An Affinity-based Cas9-Mediated Enrichment method using nanopore sequencing, Shruti Iyer, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
- Oxford Nanopore Technologies update by Rosemary Dokos, Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd
CoLab session Q&A
For an in-depth look at nanopore sequencing — from sample preparation to sequencing and data analysis — check out our CoLab page. Our CoLab session sees experts from the Oxford Nanopore team run through demonstrations to provide a full picture of the sequencing experience with nanopore devices.
On Friday 30th October at 12:00 pm (EDT), there will be a live Q&A session with our CoLab team, you can register to attend here (attendees must be registered delegates of the ASHG conference).
Don't worry if you cannot make the Q&A session, our team will be on hand all week to answer any questions you may have, just head on over to the Oxford Nanopore Technologies booth on the ASHG conference platform.
Networking room & Expert Sessions
Don't miss our three Expert Sessions: Sample Prep, Sequence and Analysis, taking place between the 28th-30th October during lunch (12:30pm EDT) in our networking room which can be accessed through the booth.
Our networking room will also be open between 10:30-17:30 (EDT) all week to give you the opportunity to discuss ongoing and upcoming projects with technical experts.
The talks you won’t want to miss
In addition to the Oxford Nanopore Technologies satellite event and sessions with our experts, we are looking forward to some fantastic presentations featuring nanopore sequencing – we’ve shared some of them below.
Please note all talks are taking place during Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
Don’t forget to check out the poster hall
And finally, not to be missed — a wealth of poster presentations (see below) from researchers using nanopore sequencing to overcome some of the key challenges in human genomics research.
