These extraction methods describe two procedures of extracting total RNA from yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae, ATCC®9763™) cell culture. The total RNA yeast extractions were performed using TRIzol and Ambion RNAqueous™ Total RNA Isolation Kit. Sequencing performance was assessed using the PCR-cDNA Sequencing Kit. Both extraction methods produced extracts which generated high-throughput sequencing libraries, with the library generated after extraction using the RNAqueous™ Total RNA Isolation Kit yielding slightly longer reads.
