- Biography
Dr. Clemens Jakobi is Senior Director Commercial Development in the mRNA Business Unit of Lonza. In his current role, Clemens is driving forward growth projects in the area of the mRNA modality. Together with a team of experts in Lonza, he is developing an mRNA manufacturing platform to enable an agile response to unmet medical needs.
Clemens completed the pharmacy degree program at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and is a licensed pharmacist in Switzerland. He holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Freiburg and an MBA degree from The State University of New York. Clemens thrives on making innovative projects real and leading diverse, cross-functional teams. During his tenure at Novartis (2005–2018), he launched an eyesight-saving treatment in Europe. Since joining Lonza in 2018, he has championed major expansion projects. In his free time, he plays saxophone and clarinet and has contributed to several recordings of traditional and recent Swiss children’s songs.
